What is the Home Builders Blitz? Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz 2006 is a nationwide effort that joins professional homebuilders and Habitat for Humanity affiliates to build 1,000 houses for those in need. Together, we can send a message throughout the country – that affordable housing can be a reality. During the week of June 5, 2006, more than 700 Habitat homes will be constructed from start to finish in more than 160 communities throughout the United States. As hurricane-devastated areas become habitable once again, the Home Builders Blitz enters its next stage by building the remainder of the 1,000 homes. This will be achieved through Habitat’s hurricane recovery effort, Operation Home Delivery, and with the help of building professionals.
