Home Builders Blitz 2012

Home Builders Blitz 2012 is a nationwide partnership between Habitat for Humanity affiliates and the local building community to make sure more families have a chance to own a simple, decent house. We will be building 5 homes in McKinney, and completing home Rehabs and "A Brush With Kindness" in a target neighborhood for community revitalization.

The 2012 Home Builders Blitz
  • Is endorsed by the National Association of Home Builders.
  • Partners Habitat affiliates with professional builders to build affordable homes.
  • Goal for 2012: build 250 homes in five days.

Habitat’s role

  • Secure land for the build and manage site development.
  • Provide house plans.
  • Obtain permits for the homes.
  • Provide fundraising publicity and marketing support.
  • Select the homeowners based on Habitat’s family selection criteria.

How you can help

  • Assist with planning and development.
  • Get more local business partners and suppliers to participate.
  • Be on site to provide expertise, coordination and labor to take a home from framing to completion.

Volunteer Orientation

 

Want to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity? Come to Orientation. It lasts about 1 hour and you will find out what is going on in your neighborhood!

Requirements for children.

ORIENTATION - Required

All Volunteers must have attended an Orientation AND signed a waiver.

  • Youth under the age of 16 are not allowed on the construction work site.

  • Youth 16 -17 years must have a parent or guardian with them on all tasks including volunteer orientation.
